AROUND ATLANTA - ARABIA MOUNTAIN

Since we moved to Atlanta, there hasn't been a weekend when we have been left with nothing to do.  There are endless options of activities inside, outside, for free and to break the bank - it can get overwhelming.  One of our go to's is always checking out ATLANTA TRAILS website to see what weekend hikes we want to check out.  On a lazy Saturday, ARABIA MOUNTAIN seemed pretty perfect being that it's only 1.5 miles of set trail and we could branch off and make it longer if we felt like it.
The 360 degree views from the top of the short hike are pretty amazing in the morning and the fresh air makes it feel like your a lot farther away from a city than you actually are.  We started out heading for the summit and then wandered down to the lake where people were fishing and getting some sun.  There is a nice little parked path around the lake and back to the start of the hike and parking.  It's a perfect morning hike to get your weekend started and legs stretched out - and it would be a perfect picnic spot!  Let me know if you check it out, or if you have any go to trails that I need to check out!

LET'S GO - NEW ORLEANS PT.3

The day before we all went our separate ways we got a tour of the oldest cemetery in New Orleans, St. Louis Cemetery No.1.  We had an amazing tour guide who put up with us and the heat and gave us a great history lesson on New Orleans.  He even took the time to show us the future home of Nicholas Cage (the pyramid tomb near the bottom was picked out by Nick for when he eventually bites the big one).
St. Louis Cemetery No.1 was one of the most hauntingly beautiful places I have seen and I would put this on the top of my must list for anyone visiting this city.  There isn't much else to say, so enjoy the photos and maybe you'll get to see a reunion post next month after the wedding bells have rung aloud in Salt Lake!

LET'S GO - NEW ORLEANS PT.2

One of the coolest things I have ever done in my life was hands down, no question, this swamp tour.  Getting to see the wildlife and speed around on an air boat was definitely a once in a lifetime experience that anyone in Louisiana should do for sure.  So sad to say my camera went rogue when our boat driver decided to jump in the swamp and feed a twelve foot alligator but I don't think a single picture would have done that justice anyway.  Hope you enjoy these photos and I'll be back next week with another post from our weekend!

LET'S GO - NEW ORLEANS PT.1

4 years ago, one of my very best friends re-met the love of her life.  A year and a half ago they got engaged.  Last weekend we celebrated her upcoming nuptials with a long weekend in New Orleans.  We came together from 7 (I think!) states across the country and we made a ton of memories and friends.  I've got three posts coming up to share the weekend with you, from wandering around a city so rich with history, to taking a tour of the swamps with a "world famous" gator wrestler, and ending our trip by checking out Nicholas Cage's future burial site.
Going in, I wasn't 100% sure that I would make it out.  But 4 beignets from Cafe du Monde, 1 tattoo, 1 squad shirt, 3 massive creole meals, 5 late nights, 4 early mornings, and 16 new honorary family members later, we all made it out and I will look back on this trip fondly for a long time to come.  I absolutely can't wait to get back together with these women next month in Salt Lake City, but until then these photos will have to get me through.
